We have all flung birds at enemy pigs and used our tiny wings to navigate the hills of an unknown world but how many of us actually get to fly on our iOS device? Do not ask me to explain it, but bird games seem to be fun. As I was scouring the Appstore trying to bring you the best of the bargain apps, Fly With Me jumped at me. I knew being from EA and having a bird as the main character I could not go wrong. The app is actually free as of this writing, on sale from $.99. Download it quick if you want the discounted price!

Fly With Me is easy to understand and get to playing immediately. Tap the screen to flap you wings and keep flying. The bird loves to eat bees and you must keep gobbling them up to stay in flight. The gauge on the far left of the screen is kind of like an energy/flight bar. It must remain high to stay in flight and the only way to keep the bar up is to eat more bees. The bar at the top of the screen shows your bird’s progress through the level and where the stars are located.
The goal in each level is to find and eat the three hidden stars. There are many obstacles and paths through each level, including some secret areas, so the correct route to the finish will be key. Along with bees and stars, swallow some gears along the way. Once enough gears are collected a new bird will be unlocked. The game will begin super easy to allow the learning curve to be erased and quickly ramp up. Each level will present new obstacles and make it more difficult to eat bees and stay in flight. There are even gusts of good wind that your bird will ride through different parts of the level. If you choose the correct wind, you will be rewarded.
Fly With Me is by no means terribly difficult, but it is addictive and fun. It is no trouble to quickly open the app and play a level or two when waiting in line or another time where a few minutes need to be killed. What more do you need? Birds, addictive gameplay and mindless fun! Best of all, Fly With Me is FREE right now here in the app store.
