Hot Wheels fans who dream of driving some of their favorite miniature toys are getting their wishes as Chevrolet has announced it will offer a limited-edition run of the Kinetic Blue Camaro it debuted at SEMA in Las Vegas.

“Millions of us grew up playing with Hot Wheels,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Offering a special production model of the Camaro Hot Wheels is an opportunity to bring those memories to life, for kids of all ages.”

The unique model will be available for orders Nov. 1 and will be produced in the first quarter of 2013. It will be available in coupe and convertible models in 2LT (V-6) and SS (V-8) packages with styling cues taken from the performance ZL-1 Camaro.

“It’s been nearly 20 years since I started designing cars for Hot Wheels and I have yet to drive one home,” said Felix Holst, vice president of creative for the Mattel Wheels Division. “Personally, I can’t wait to open the doors and see the Hot Wheels Camaro sitting in the garage.”

The original Custom Camaro 1:64 scale toy car was offered in 1968 and was one of the original 16 Hot Wheels issued and remains one of the most valuable Hot Wheels toys among collectors today.

  1. It was a Camaro that ignited my latent muscle car lust back in April (I rented one for a week), and now it’s even worse! Thanks a lot, David!
